Piggy visited the amazing children and nurses of http://ihopenyc.org! Piggy made both the children and the adults cry with happiness and hope. Kids who have had enormous troubles learning to move after traumatic brain injuries, were motivated to move and learn to tame and use their limbs to pet Piggy, and their faces (along with the therapists, teachers, and social workers) lit up when they were able to. They invited us back to have Piggy take part in the Special Olympics in August! 😀
This wonderful girl in this photo had enormous difficulties with mobility, and she was also terrified of dogs. By the end of the visit, she was petting him on her own, and her social workers were crying watching this.
